A bit about us.

Launched at the start of 2002 by Jonathon Simpkins and Steven Shillinglaw, the Bluespace studio specialises in design led fit-out and furnishing of commercial interiors - it's that simple.

...but we do have other strings to our bow, we've designed for retail, laboratories, schools, colleges and universities, nurseries, a lap dancing club - we don't discriminate - good design is good design, and that's where we excel, and it doesn't have to mean expensive, it's usual that we work to your budget.

We can design, build and manage your refurbishment project from feasibility study down to hanging the artwork or, on a practical level, organise a few realistically priced chairs.

We don't profess to be the biggest but we are passionate about what we do and we have built year on year on our success, and when we have problems, that's when we earn our money and bring to bear our collective experience. Our large client retention stands testimony to the fact that we do a good job.

  Jonathon Simpkins, Managing Director

  Jonathon is the hub around which Bluespace revolves, as Managing Director he has his work cut out keeping everyone happy. His main function is to maintain client relationships, but finding new business opportunities is where he gets his real buzz!. He has a personal draw towards chairs and there isn't much he doesn't know about a synchronised movement!

  Steven Shillinglaw, Senior Interior Designer

  Responsible for the creation and design of the majority of Bluespace projects, Steven is a designer through and through. Still passionate about interior design after nearly 25 years, he tries to bring a fresh, tailored approach to each and every project - backed up by extensive practical experience in the industry.

  Jamie Brown, Operations Manager

  Jamie has been involved in the interiors industry since 1997 with a great deal of experience in client management and operations. Jamie is strong on maintaining client and supplier relationships and managing the client's requirements from concept to completion. If things aren't going well you can trust Jamie to sort it!

  Louise Simpkins, Senior Administrator

  Our Senior Administrator doubles as our accounts person so she is always worth being nice to! Louise also looks after the day-to-day administration in the office - and as an army marches on it's stomach, Bluespace runs smoothly on it's admin.
